Sizing
The only reliable way to determine your ring size is by trying on one as similar as possible in size, shape and profile to the one that you’re interested in. The easiest way to do this is by going to a nearby jewelry store where you can be sized by a professional jeweler. Please be sure to let them know the dimensions and profile of the ring you’re looking at since these will affect how it fits. For instance, a 2mm ring with a comfort fit profile will fit differently than a 10mm, flat profile ring. Generally, the wider and flatter a ring is, the more tightly it will feel on the finger. An appropriately sized ring should fit comfortably and not slide off if you shake or fling your hand, but should come off with a little resistance when gently pulled. The ring should never feel constricting or like it’s cutting off circulation. Quarter sizes are also available. Please contact us if a quarter size would be the perfect fit for you.
Our rings are sized by the leading edge using a round mandrel which is fairly common when sizing, but by no means universal. Be sure to let the jeweler know this when you are being sized. Our plain bands can be resized easily. Because of their construction and the unique texture on our gemstone rings, resizing these is a little more complicated. If you cannot find a way to be sized because of your location or a disability, please contact us. For information about resizing and our return policy, please see our shipping, returns and general information page.
Care Instructions
Generally, softer metals such as sterling or fine silver and 22K gold are more prone to wear than harder metals like 14K gold. All jewelry will eventually show signs of wear over a lifetime. Because they are worn on the hands, rings tend to be subjected to more wear than other jewelry. We recommend keeping in mind how often you work with your hands and what conditions your jewelry will be subjected to in your daily activities when selecting metals and gemstones. For more help selecting metals and gems suitable for your needs please contact us.
To reduce wear and prolong the life of your jewelry, we recommend removing jewelry before all athletic activities or when you will be working with your hands (landscaping, for instance). Avoid subjecting your jewelry to abrasive materials (e.g. sand, abrasive toothpaste, etc.), perspiration, solvents and chemicals (e.g. chlorine, bleach, household cleansers), strong detergents, and sudden, extreme temperature changes. Inspect your jewelry occasionally for damage and wear. To clean your jewelry, gently brush it with a soft-bristled toothbrush under warm water with a mild soap, or have it professionally cleaned by a jeweler. To restore the polish on a piece of jewelry, gently buff the item with a jewelry polishing cloth. The only way to preserve jewelry in its original condition is to not wear it. Instead, enjoy wearing your jewelry and embrace the beautiful antique look only attainable from a lifetime of wear.
